Het is vrijdagmiddag. Het is druk op de snelweg. Met loeiende sirenes is Steenwijker Emiel Snip onderweg vanuit Soesterberg naar de Kop van Overijssel. Hij werkt bij de EOD en vliegt af op een melding uit Steenwijk, die PRIO 1 heeft meegekregen. „Toen ik je de vorige keer sprak, zei ik toch dat ik zou bellen als ik een melding in de buurt zou hebben? Nou…” Een dikke grijns. Er valt een stilte. „Je raadt het al”, zegt hij. „Ik rij nu in de omgeving van Nijkerk. Er is waarschijnlijk een explosief gevonden in het Kornputkwartier. Ik meld me weer als ik bij het politiebureau in Steenwijk ben geweest.”
